Crash alert: Passenger dead after vehicles collide on Highway 2 near Ravenna
RAVENNA, NE – Police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a deadly crash on Highway 2 in Buffalo County early Friday morning.
According to KHGI, the two-vehicle accident took place near the intersection of Pawnee Road east of Ravenna shortly before 5 a.m.
The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office said a 25-year-old man was driving west on the highway when his vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by a 35-year-old woman.
Four passengers were inside the woman’s vehicle, and one of them was pronounced dead at the scene. All the others in the car, all adults, were taken to CHI-Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. No details were released on the extent of their injuries.
A stretch of Highway 2 was shut down near the crash scene while law enforcement authorities investigated the wreck.
