Crash alert: Police in Grand Island search for driver after pickup truck rollover crash
GRAND ISLAND, NE – Police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck that was involved in a rollover accident in Grand Island early Monday morning.
According to the Grand Island Independent, the vehicle crashed and overturned in the area of Highway 281 and Highway 30. Police who responded to the accident scene at about 1:40 a.m. discovered that the pickup had been abandoned.
Police said it appeared from video evidence that the driver was not hurt and left on his own after the crash. Officers conducted a search in the area but were not able to locate the driver.
The southbound lanes of Highway 281 were shut down for several hours while police were investigating.
