Crash alert: Couple killed, baby injured in Cheyenne County collision
CHEYENNE COUNTY, NE – Authorities said a couple was killed and their infant daughter injured in a two-vehicle crash in Cheyenne County Friday afternoon, the Scottsbluff Star-Herald reports.
The accident happened in the area of County Road 111 and County Road 23 shortly before 1 p.m. According to investigators, 51-year-old Brian Lee Johnson was driving a Honda CRV sport utility vehicle when he went through a stop sign at the intersection and crashed into a van trailer being pulled by a semi tractor-trailer. Johnson and his wife, 24-year-old Catherine Noquera Johnson, both died in the wreck. The couple’s 1-year-old daughter was extricated from the SUV and was taken to a hospital in Sidney before being flown to Colorado Children’s Hospital. No information was released on her condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
