Crash alert: Omaha man killed when vehicle hits retaining wall, overturns
OMAHA, NE – Police say an Omaha man was killed when his vehicle was involved in a crash late Wednesday night.
In a news release, the Omaha Police Department said officers responded to the scene in front of 2951 Ed Creighton Avenue near 29th Street at about 11:30 p.m. Investigators determined that Randy Rettele was driving a Ford Explorer west when he crossed a curbed median to the south and struck a large wooden retaining wall.
The vehicle overturned, pinning the driver underneath. Rettele, age 59, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle.
Police are continuing their investigation into the wreck.
