Crash alert: Head-on collision near McCook kills 1, injures several others
MCCOOK, NE – Authorities in Red Willow County are investigating a fatal head-on crash that occurred over the weekend, according to KHGI.
Emergency crews responded to the scene on Highway 6/34 east of McCook on Saturday after the accident was reported at about 7 p.m. Investigators determined that 72-year-old Thomas Stritt was driving a Toyota Camry west when he crossed over the center line and collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe.
Stritt, an Indianola resident, sustained fatal injuries in the wreck. Several people in the Tahoe were hospitalized including the driver, Anthony Truksa. No information was released on the extent of their injuries.
