Crash alert: Child critically injured in collision at Douglas County intersection
WATERLOO, NE – Three people were injured, including a child, when their vehicle was involved in a collision in Douglas County on Wednesday.
WOWT reports the incident occurred in the vicinity of Highway 275 and Highway 92 near Waterloo.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, a woman driving an SUV with her two children was pulling out from the intersection when her vehicle was hit by a rock truck.
One of the children was critically injured and was rushed to a hospital in Omaha in critical condition. The driver and the other child sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The driver of the rock truck was not hurt.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the cause of the crash.
