Crash alert: Man killed when SUV crashes into creek off I-80 near Ashland
ASHLAND, NE – The Nebraska State Patrol was at the scene of a fatal SUV crash on Interstate 80 over the weekend, KETV reports.
According to state troopers, the driver of a Toyota 4Runner went off I-80 west Saturday between the Greenwood and Mahoney State Park exits near Ashland at about 2:30 p.m.
The crash sent the vehicle into a creek. Emergency crews used a crane to get the car out and attempted to rescue the man inside, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released.
The NSP is trying to determine the cause of the fatal wreck.
