Crash alert: Motorcyclist critically injured in collision with semi-truck in Sarpy County
SARPY COUNTY, NE – A man was hospitalized in critical condition after his motorcycle was involved in a crash in Sarpy County on Saturday, according to WOWT.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a semi-truck was headed east on Platte River Road when he made a turn onto 132nd Street in front of the motorcyclist.
The vehicles collided and the motorcycle rider, identified as 43-year-old Ace Schlund, was rushed to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The condition of the truck driver, 61-year-old James Hauptman, was not released.
Authorities said no tickets have been issued as the accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office CRASH Response Unit.
