Crash alert: Driver seriously injured in Merrick County rollover crash
MERRICK COUNTY, NE – A driver was hospitalized after their vehicle was involved in a rollover accident in Merrick County on Friday night, KOLN reports.
Deputies responded to the scene in the area of 2nd Road and J Road. The sheriff’s office determined that a driver who was heading southbound went into a ditch, overcorrected and drove into another ditch. The vehicle then hit an embankment and the driver was ejected, ending up in water.
Authorities said the driver, whose identity was not released, was transported to a trauma center with severe injuries. The person was not wearing a seat belt, according to investigators.
The sheriff’s office said alcohol was believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash.
