Crash alert: Lincoln police searching for driver who struck and injured motorcyclist
LINCOLN, NE – Police in Lincoln say a motorcyclist was struck and critically injured by a driver who left the scene late Friday night, KOLN reports.
Officers arrived at the scene at South 27th Street and Tamarin Ridge Road shortly before midnight. Investigators determined that a 28-year-old motorcyclist was headed north on South 27th Street when he struck a median and was knocked to the ground. When he sat up next to the motorcycle he was struck by a dark-colored SUV that drove away, according to police.
The motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, and police said he is expected to survive.
A search is now underway for the driver involved, and anyone with information was asked to contact the Lincoln Police Department.
