Crash alert: Woman critically injured after being hit by vehicle in Omaha
OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Police Department reported a woman was critically injured after she was struck by a vehicle on Monday night.
Officers discovered the injured woman after responding to the area of S 26th Street and F Street at 8:44 p.m. Investigators determined that she was driving a Chrysler Pacifica when she struck parked vehicles near 25th Street and G Street. She got out of the car, fled on foot and ran into traffic, according to police.
The woman ran in front of a Jeep Patriot heading west on F Street and was struck by the vehicle. She was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with injuries that were considered life-threatening.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 37-year-old Rafael Adame, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident.
