Crash alert: Collision on Highway 2 outside Lincoln kills 1, injures 4
LINCOLN, NE – Two vehicles were involved in a deadly collision on Highway 2 in Lancaster County on Friday night in which drunk driving was suspected, reports WOWT.
The incident took place near Rokeby Road outside southeast Lincoln just after 9 p.m. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a Subaru Legacy heading east crossed over the center line and struck a Dodge Caravan heading in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Legacy, 55-year-old Kimberly A. Haes, was pronounced dead at the scene. Four people in the Caravan were taken to two Lincoln hospitals with injuries that were not regarded as life-threatening.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and investigators said alcohol was believed to have been a contributing factor in the wreck.
