Crash alert: Pickup truck driver injured in collision near North Platte
NORTH PLATTE, NE – A pickup truck driver was transported to the hospital following a collision near North Platte Wednesday afternoon, News Channel Nebraska reports.
According to North Platte Police, the pickup was going north on the Willow Street Viaduct at about 2 p.m. when the driver of the vehicle crossed over the center line. The truck collided with a SUV that was headed south, and one of the truck’s tires ended up being lodged into the viaduct.
The driver of the pickup was taken by ambulance to Great Plains Health, but no details were released on the person’s condition. The SUV driver went to the hospital herself, police said.
The incident shut down the viaduct for about 40 minutes.
