Crash alert: School principal charged with DUI in Omaha crash that injured motorcyclist
BELLEVUE, NE – Police arrested a suspected drunk driver after he was involved in an accident in Omaha Friday night, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
46-year-old Andrew Miller of Omaha was charged with felony DUI/serious bodily injury in connection with the incident that took place in the area of 141st Street and Pacific Street at about 7:15 p.m. Authorities said Miller was driving a pickup truck west on Pacific Street when he crashed into the back of a westbound motorcycle driven by 58-year-old Bruce Blaydes of Omaha.
Blaydes was hospitalized in critical condition at Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy.
Responding officers said Miller showed indications of impairment, and he was arrested following a blood test. He was taken to the Douglas County Jail and was ordered held on $250,000 bail.
Miller, the principal at LeMay Elementary School in Bellevue for the past nine years, was placed on paid administrative leave following the accident.
