Crash alert: Fremont man injured when motorcycle collides with tractor
FREMONT, NE – A man was injured when his motorcycle was involved in a collision in Fremont Saturday night.
According to the Fremont Tribune, the incident took place in the 600 block of West South Street at about 10:10 p.m. Police said 59-year-old Mark D. Carey of Fremont was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson west on South Street when he crashed into a Peterbilt truck tractor that was parked on the north side of the street.
Carey lost control of the motorcycle, hit a mailbox, and was thrown from the bike. He was first transported to Methodist Fremont Health, then was flown to Omaha for treatment. No further details were released on the extent of his injuries.
Police said there was about $8,000 in damage to the motorcycle and about $2,000 to the tractor.
