Crash alert: Motorcyclist killed in collision with pickup on NW Radial Highway in Omaha
OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Police Department released details of a crash that killed a motorcyclist on Monday morning.
Police said 34-year-old Pedro D. Flores of Omaha was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on NW Radial Highway at about 5:47 a.m. At the same time, 60-year-old Mark A. Simmons of Omaha was driving a Toyota Tundra pickup eastbound on Nicholas Street. According to investigators, Simmons stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection, where the Tundra hit the motorcycle.
Flores was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was wearing a DOT approved helmet. Simmons, who was questioned at the scene, was not injured.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash, which closed NW Radial in both directions for several hours.
