Crash alert: Two semi drivers killed in collision on Interstate 80 west of Lincoln
LINCOLN, NE – Two truck drivers were killed when their vehicles collided on Interstate 80 Tuesday morning, authorities said.
According to WOWT, the incident occurred on I-80 west near exit 371 west of Lincoln at about 11:15 a.m.
The Nebraska State Patrol said the driver of an eastbound semi crossed over the median and crashed into a semi going west. Both drivers sustained fatal injuries. Their identities were not immediately released.
I-80 west was shut down at mile marker 373 while state troopers worked the scene. Drivers were being detoured to Highway 34.
Sad to report that this crash has resulted in two fatalities.
Westbound I-80 remains CLOSED at mile marker 373 as the investigation continues.
