Crash alert: Driver killed in high-speed pickup truck accident on JFK Freeway in Omaha
OMAHA, NE – Police said a man died after his pickup truck was involved in an accident in Omaha Friday night.
According to WOWT, police responded to the scene at the on-ramp from JFK northbound to Interstate 80 eastbound at about 9:45 p.m.
Investigators determined that 32-year-old Luis A. Chavez was driving a Ford F-250 pickup north on JFK to the on-ramp of I-80 east when the vehicle drifted off the road, rolled and crashed.
Chavez was found dead at the scene by medics. No one else was in the vehicle. Police said the main factors in the fatal wreck were high speed, alcohol use and lack of restraint use.
