Crash alert: Motorcyclist killed in collision with SUV along Abbott Drive in Omaha
OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Police Department reported a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV last Thursday night.
Officers responded to the scene on Abbott Drive near Riverfront Drive after the incident was reported shortly before 11:30 p.m. Investigators determined that 33-year-old Thomas Hostettor of Omaha was driving a motorcycle north when he lost control of the bike, crossed into southbound traffic and crashed into a southbound Nissan Rogue.
Hostettor was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Rogue, Troy T.L. Moore of Chanhassen, Minnesota, was not injured. Police say speed is being investigated as a factor in the collision, which blocked traffic for several hours.
