OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash that killed a driver last week.
In a news release, police said officers responded to the accident scene at 7400 Sorensen Parkway Wednesday night at 9:20 a.m.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud crash in the early morning hours, and once it was light out they saw a Nissan Pathfinder on its roof and called 911. Police determined that the driver had been going west on Sorensen Parkway when the vehicle went off the roadway, down a ravine, and rolled several times before ending up on its roof.
The driver, identified as 71-year-old Thomas Hendricks, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle.
Police said alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor in the wreck.
