Crash alert: Teen driver hospitalized following Stanton County rollover wreck
STANTON, NE – Authorities said a teenage driver was seriously injured in a crash in Stanton County last week, according to a report by KCAU.
Investigators said the 15-year-old was behind the wheel of a car heading south on Ridge Road near Stanton shortly before 8 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle.
The car went into a ditch and rolled over, and the boy was ejected out a rear window. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time. He was taken to University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha with serious injuries.
The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office said the teen was on his way to Stanton Community Schools when the incident occurred. Speed is considered to have been a contributing factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
