Crash alert: 5 injured, 1 critically, in multi-vehicle crash at Lincoln intersection
LINCOLN, NE – Five people were injured, one critically, in a multi-vehicle crash at an intersection in Lincoln Saturday afternoon, KOLN reports.
Lincoln Police and rescue crews responded to the scene in the area of 33rd Street and Cornhusker Highway at about 12:45 p.m.
A preliminary investigation determined that a driver going east made a U-turn at 33rd Street and was struck by a vehicle going west. The second vehicle then crashed into two other eastbound vehicles.
The westbound driver was hospitalized in critical condition, while one other person was also hospitalized. Three other people sustained minor injuries.
The eastbound lanes of Cornhusker Highway were shut down from State Fair Park Drive to 33rd Street for the crash investigation.
