Crash alert: ATVs collide in suspected DWI crash in Woodland Park
WOODLAND PARK, NE – Authorities said two ATVs collided in Woodland Park early Friday morning, leaving one man seriously injured.
According to News Channel Nebraska, the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident at Meadow Lane and North Eastwood Street shortly after 1:30 a.m.
Deputies found that one of the ATV drivers had been ejected after the vehicles crashed. The driver, identified as 45-year-old Charles Cummings of Norfolk, was hospitalized at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. The other driver, 34-year-old Eric Sloan of Norfolk, was not injured.
Both drivers were charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful operation of an ATV.
The county sheriff said neither of the vehicles were equipped for night time driving.
