Crash alert: Bicycle rider hospitalized after accident with SUV in Fremont
FREMONT, NE – A collision between an SUV and a bicycle in Fremont Tuesday night left the bicycle rider hospitalized, police said.
According to the Fremont Tribune, the bicyclist was going north on Broad Street at about 7:50 p.m. when he was hit from behind by a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee near Shuster Ranch Road.
The 58-year-old bicycle rider was taken to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha with head injuries. No details were released on his condition. The 86-year-old man who was driving the Jeep was not injured.
The Nebraska State Patrol and Fremont Police are investigating the accident, and so far no charges have been filed.
