Crash alert: Motorcyclist killed in accident on I-80 on-ramp in Omaha
OMAHA, NE – Police say a man was killed in a Christmas Eve motorcycle accident in Omaha.
According to the Omaha Police Department, officers responded to the scene after the crash at the on-ramp from southbound 60th Street to Interstate 80 East at about 3:24 p.m.
Investigators said the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling on the on-ramp when the bike went off the roadway and down an embankment. The motorcyclist, 54-year-old Jamie Richardson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was transported to Nebraska Medicine.
Richardson passed away of his injuries at the hospital. Police said alcohol impairment is being investigated as a possible factor in the accident.
