Crash alert: Pedestrian dies after being hit by pickup at NW Radial intersection
OMAHA, NE – Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in Omaha on Christmas Day.
The Omaha Police Department said officers responded to the NW Radial intersection after the incident was reported shortly before 5:30 p.m. Investigators said the driver of a GMC Sierra pickup truck was headed north on 52nd Street when he entered the intersection and began to turn west.
The vehicle hit a pedestrian who was walking just outside the marked crosswalk, police said. The pedestrian, identified as 32-year-old Seth Dawson, was taken to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition and was pronounced dead early the following morning.
The driver, 31-year-old Brandon Hartman of Omaha, was booked for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
