Crash alert: 2 injured, including Omaha police officer, in crash at 52nd and Dodge
OMAHA, NE – An Omaha police officer was one of two people injured in a car crash Tuesday morning, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
Investigators said the driver of a Ford Explorer was attempting to turn from 52nd Street onto Dodge Street at about 2 a.m. when the SUV pulled out in front of a police cruiser, causing the vehicles to collide.
The officer driving the cruiser and the driver of the Ford were taken to Nebraska Medical Center for evaluation with what were described as minor injuries.
The area was shut down to traffic before reopening about an hour later. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
