Crash alert: Authorities identify victim of fatal Douglas County collision
BENNINGTON, NE – The driver killed in a crash in Douglas County last week has now been identified, according to WOWT.
This is an update to a previous story.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was Timothy Harris of Washington County. He was driving a green sedan when his vehicle was involved in a collision with an SUV Thursday on Bennington Road at 204th Street.
A witness told investigators that Harris was going east on Bennington Road at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the stop sign, causing the car to T-bone an SUV that was going north on 204th Street.
The sedan rolled into a field, and Harris was pronounced dead after being taken to CHI-Bergan Mercy. The driver of the SUV and children in the other vehicle were taken to the same hospital.
