Crash alert: Grand Island man dies in rollover accident east of Kearney
KEARNEY, NE – The Nebraska State Patrol said a driver died in a single-vehicle crash in Buffalo County on New Year’s Day, reports the Grand Island Independent.
The accident occurred in the area of Keystone Road and Coal Chute Road east of Kearney, and was reported at about 9 a.m. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Jake Gillespie of Grand Island.
According to the NSP, he was driving a BMW sedan when the vehicle went off the roadway and rolled multiple times. Gillespie was thrown from the car and was found dead at the scene.
Investigators believe speed contributed to the fatal wreck.
