GRAND ISLAND, NE – Five people were injured in a crash caused by a speeding driver on Interstate 80 Sunday morning, the Nebraska State Patrol said.
According to a report by WOWT, troopers attempted to pull over the 18-year-old driver of a Toyota Corolla for a traffic stop near the Grand Island exit.
The NSP said the driver refused to pull over, sped away, and made a u-turn going west in the eastbound lanes of I-80. The Toyota collided head-on with a Lincoln Navigator, ejecting the 18-year-old. Both drivers suffered life-threatening injuries and were transported to St. Francis Hospital.
Three passengers in the Lincoln sustained minor injuries.
