Crash alert: Teen driver who caused head-on collision on I-80 dies of injuries
GRAND ISLAND, NE – A teenage driver has died following a head-on collision on Interstate 80 in Nebraska on Sunday morning, according to WOWT and the Associated Press.
This is an update to a previous story.
The victim was identified as 18-year-old Angel Pojoy Domingo of Grand Island. Authorities said Domingo took off after police saw him driving recklessly and attempted a traffic stop in I-80 east near the Grand Island exit.
Domingo, driving a Toyota Corolla, reportedly turned around and drove west in the eastbound lanes of I-80, where he crashed into a Lincoln Navigator. Domingo was ejected from his car, and passed away from his injuries on Tuesday at an area hospital. The 40-year-old driver of the Lincoln was hospitalized in Omaha and was expected to survive.
