Crash alert: Man, woman dead following collision at intersection in La Vista
LA VISTA, NE – Police said a collision at an intersection in Sarpy County Wednesday morning left two people dead and another injured.
WOWT reports the wreck occurred at 72nd Street and Harrison Street in La Vista at about 8 a.m. The initial investigation by La Vista police indicated that a vehicle going north at high speed on 72nd Street struck another car from behind, causing a chain-reaction.
A man and a woman in separate vehicles were killed in the crash. Another person was injured and was hospitalized. Police believe one of the drivers involved may have had a medical episode prior to the incident.
Lanes were shut down near the scene in all directions while police and emergency crews were responding.
