Crash alert: 1 driver killed, 1 injured when vehicles crash head-on in Lincoln
LINCOLN, NE – One driver was killed and another was injured in a head-on crash in Lincoln Tuesday afternoon, reports KOLN.
Police and emergency crews responded to the scene on 70th Street near Pine Lake Road at about 1:25 p.m. Investigators with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said two vehicles that were going in opposite directions on S. 70th Street collided. Both drivers were transported to Bryan Health West Campus, where one driver was pronounced dead. The other sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver who died was not wearing seatbelts while the other driver was, the sheriff’s office said.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the wreck and said that alcohol does not appear to have been a contributing factor.
