Crash alert: Bicyclist critically injured after being hit by pickup truck in Cass County
CASS COUNTY, NE – A bicyclist was critically injured in an accident in Cass County on Friday morning, authorities said.
KOLN reported it happened as the 39-year-old bicycle rider was going east on the MoPac trail near 286th Street at about 11:30 a.m. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a Ford F-450 pickup truck was headed north on 286th Street and saw the bicyclist, but was not able to stop in time.
The bicycle rider, a Lincoln man, was taken to Bryan LGH Hospital Trauma Center with what were reported to be very critical injuries.
The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation into the crash.
