Crash alert: Collision at 192nd Street and F Street in Omaha kills 2 women, injures man
OMAHA, NE – Two people were killed and another was injured in a car accident in Omaha late Thursday night, police said.
The Omaha Police Department said patrol officers and Douglas County Sheriff deputies responded to 192nd Street and F Street after the crash was reported shortly before 11 p.m. The initial investigation showed that the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck entered the intersection and collided with a Nissan Armada SUV headed south. Both vehicles ended up on the southeast corner of the intersection and the Nissan went up in flames.
Two women who were in the Nissan were declared dead at the scene. They have not yet been identified. The driver of the Ford, 21-year-old Zachary Paulison of Omaha, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Bergan Mercy Hospital.
Investigators are examining alcohol use and high speed as possible contributing factors in the collision. The roadway was shut down for about five hours for the investigation and cleanup.
