Crash alert: Collision at Cuming County intersection kills 1, injures 2
BEEMER, NE – Authorities said two cars were involved in a fatal collision in Cuming County on Monday evening.
According to News Channel Nebraska, the Cuming County Sheriff’s Office said a driver failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of N Road and 14th Road near Beemer.
The driver collided with another vehicle, causing both vehicles to strike a bridge guardrail and sending one of them into a ditch.
One person died at the scene and was identified as Arden Leimer of Beemer. Two other people, Marshall Stalp of Wisner and Josie Kahlandt of Hooper, were injured and transported to a hospital in West Point.
The accident shut down N Road between Beemer and Highway 9 for about five hours while the scene was being cleared. The Nebraska State Patrol was at the scene along with the Cuming County Sheriff’s Office, West Point police and local first responders.
