Crash alert: Driver dies after vehicle collides with backhoe in Holt County
HOLT COUNTY, NE – A truck and a backhoe were involved in a deadly collision in north-central Nebraska last week, according to the Doniphan Herald.
Authorities said the incident happened Wednesday on 45A spur in Holt County, where 49-year-old Addison Woodard Jr. was driving north in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup at about 10 a.m. The Silverado crashed into a Caterpillar backhoe that was going south and trying to turn east.
Woodard, a Clearwater resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The backhoe driver, 51-year-old John Larson of Valley, sustained minor injuries.
An investigation is continuing into the cause of the crash.
