Crash alert: Driver fleeing from NSP trooper crashes on Interstate 680
OMAHA, NE – The Nebraska State Patrol said a driver trying to elude a state trooper crashed on Interstate 680 Thursday morning.
According to KETV, the trooper attempted a traffic stop on the driver of a Toyota Sienna who was seen speeding at about 90 miles an hour while headed south on I-680 at about 8:15 a.m.
The NSP said the driver tried to flee but lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a barrier, while also colliding with a Chevrolet Impala. Charges are now pending against the Toyota driver, 32-year-old Nicholas Brady, who was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The Chevrolet driver, 27-year-old Tylon Holmes, was not injured but was arrested after it was found that he had an active warrant.
Omaha police are investigating the crash, which shut down three eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 for over an hour.
