Crash alert: 1 driver killed, 1 injured after vehicles collide near Aurora
AURORA, NE – The Nebraska State Patrol said one driver was killed and another injured when their vehicles collided head-on in Hamilton County.
KFXL reports the incident took place on Highway 14 near Aurora at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The NSP’s investigation determined that 20-year-old Tyler Green was driving a Ford Focus southbound and crossed into the northbound lane of the highway.
The Ford struck a northbound Pontiac Bonneville nearly head-on. Green, a Marquette resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Pontiac, 28-year-old Harrison McMahon of Clay Center, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island with serious injuries.
The wreck is under investigation by the NSP, which was assisted at the scene by the Aurora Police Department, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Aurora Fire and Rescue.
