Crash Alert: 2 teens seriously injured in rollover crash near Norfolk
NORFOLK, NE – Two teenagers were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash near Norfolk on Monday.
According to WJAG, the 16-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle while heading east on Old Highway 8, causing it to overturn and eject the passenger. The driver then attempted to flee the scan on foot but was located a short time later.
The 16-year-old female passenger was flown to a nearby hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. The driver was also hospitalized in serious condition.
Investigators believe speed played a role in the collision. The vehicle’s driver has since been cited for no operator’s license, careless driving, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and a probation violation.
