Crash alert: Driver killed in collision between car and semi in Adams County
HASTINGS, NE – Police in Hastings said a driver was killed when his vehicle collided with a semi-truck Wednesday afternoon.
KSNB reports the accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 6 and Technical Boulevard at about 4:30 p.m.
Investigators said the driver, identified as 71-year-old Frank Larson, failed to yield the right of way as he entered the intersection and was struck by an eastbound semi-truck. Larson was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not hurt.
Highway 6 was shut down while the scene was being cleared and investigated before re-opening about three hours later.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office joined with the Nebraska State Patrol to conduct the investigation.
