Crash alert: Pedestrian dies after being struck by SUVs on Omaha street
OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Police Department reports a man was killed in a pedestrian accident late Friday night.
Officers responded to the area of 153rd Street and Maple Road at 11:20 p.m. following a report of a person in the roadway.
Investigators determined that 41-year-old Curtis N. Gormley of Omaha was crossing W Maple Road when he was struck by a westbound SUV, and then by another westbound SUV. Gormley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both SUV drivers, who were not injured, remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
While police were investigating the crash one officer’s cruiser was struck by a DUI driver and sustained minor damage, police said.
