Crash Alert: Fatal single-vehicle accident reported on US 275
DODGE COUNTY, NE – According to KETV, a woman lost her life in a single-vehicle collision on US 275 near Old Hwy 8 Wednesday.
Amalia Cabrera, 23, was driving a Honda Civic east on US 275 when she strayed off the road and slammed into a tree. Cabrera was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Rescue crews pronounced Cabrera dead at the scene of the accident.
Authorities believe speed and impairment may have been factors in the wreck.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol are investigating the incident.
