Crash Alert: 1 dead following explosion at ethanol plant in Wood River
WOOD RIVER, NE – According to KSNB, an employee died following an explosion at Green Plains Wood River on April 17.
The explosion resulted from work being done in a liquid holding tank. Jody Norgaard, 49, died from injuries sustained in the incident.
Rescue crews transported one employee to an area hospital in critical condition. Three contractors were hospitalized with minor injuries.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
