Crash Alert: Woman killed, 2 injured, truck driver arrested following crash in SW Sidney
SIDNEY, NE – WOWT reports that a woman died when a semi-truck driver collided with her sedan near NE-17J Link and Old Post Rd Friday.
Gurjeet Singh, 25, was driving north on NE-17J Link when he ran a red light at the intersection with Old Post Road and collided with the passenger side of a Nissan Maxima around 4:40 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced one of the Nissan’s passengers, 48-year-old Lori Wiens, dead at the scene. They transported two other occupants, both 16-year-old females, to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities arrested and charged Singh with motor vehicle homicide and willful reckless driving.
