Crash Alert: 2 dead following 2-vehicle crash near Shelby
POLK COUNTY, NE – According to WOWT, two drivers died in a two-vehicle collision at Hwy 81 and NE 92 Friday.
Jesse Vasquez Espinoza, Jr., 42, was driving a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck when he fell asleep and strayed into oncoming traffic where he collided with a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Viola Peace, 60, around 10 p.m.
Emergency crews extricated the two drivers from their vehicles.
First responders pronounced Peace dead at the scene and transported Espinoza to an area hospital, where he died.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
