Crash Alert: Man sentenced to prison for fatal DUI crash near Old Loveland
OMAHA, NE – The driver who was impaired when he fatally collided with another vehicle near N 76th St and Dodge St on June 26, 2022, has been sentenced to prison, according to WOWT.
Michael Packet, 24, was heading east on Dodge St in a silver Audi A4 when he slammed into a southbound 2012 Nissan Sentra driven by Gina McKenna, 44, around 9 p.m. The collision pushed the Sentra into a wooden pole, engulfing it in flames.
Rescue crews pronounced McKenna dead at the scene.
Authorities charged Packett with manslaughter on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
Packett has been sentenced to 15-to-18 years for manslaughter and driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury or death.
