Crash Alert: Officials release additional info concerning fatal crash in Greenwood

GREENWOOD, NE – According to WOWT, officials have disclosed additional details regarding the fatal crash that killed four people at NE 63 and Church Rd on Tuesday.

Hugo Buendia, 34, was driving a Honda Accord west on Chruch Rd when he ran a stop sign at NE 63 and collided with a Ford F-250 pickup truck around 8:07 p.m.

All four fatalities were occupants of the Honda. Rescue crews pronounced Buendia, Alejandro Valverde, 39,  and Ricardo Jimenez, 28, dead at the scene of the accident. They extricated Issac Valverde, 40, from the wreck and transported him to an area hospital, where he died.

Nobody in the car was wearing a seatbelt.

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the incident, which they believe was alcohol-related.
