Crash Alert: Woman pleads ‘no contest’ for fatal motorcycle crash near Highland Park
OMAHA, NE – A woman who allegedly fatally collided with a motorcyclist near S 26th St and L St on March 25 pleaded “no contest” to her charges on Thursday, according to WOWT.
Lorena Lara-Diaz was driving a Chevy Silverado when she allegedly collided with a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle ridden by Gary Mangiameli, 45, around 2:20 a.m.
Lara-Diaz was initially charged with manslaughter and refusing to submit to a sobriety test. She pleaded to a reduced charge of motor vehicle homicide on Thursday. She will be sentenced on October 24 and could face up to three years in prison and 18 months of post-release supervision.
