Crash Alert: Authorities charge driver who struck, killed bicyclist in Valley

PLATTE VALLEY, NE – The driver who fatally collided with a bicyclist near N 252nd St and Rainwood Rd on September 10 has been charged by authorities, according to KMTV.

Dale E. Teneyck, 63, was driving when he rear-ended the bicyclist, Matthew Latacha, 47, around 10:15 a.m. Latacha then crashed into a ditch.

Rescue crews performed lifesaving measures on Latacha before pronouncing him dead at the scene.

Teneyck was not hurt in the wreck.

Authorities have charged Tenecyck with misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide and careless driving.
